The 901 serving trolley by Artek is very advantageous because it is small and manoeuvrable, but still has two shelves.
This allows you to accommodate more food and drinks for your guests in a small space.
Its frame is made of sturdy birch wood and you can order the shelves with either a white laminate or black linoleum coating.
The large wheels, whose tread is rubber-coated, make the serving trolley designed by Alvar Aalto in 1936 a practical mobile companion.
Ingenious pioneer in furniture design: architect and designer Alvar Aalto
Alvar Aalto is considered to be one of the best designers and architects worldwide. Already in the 1930s, the Finn amazed with constructions that are still indispensable in the furniture industry. Aalto is also the pioneer par excellence in laminated wood processing. Influenced by the German Bauhaus, he experimented with this material since the end of the 1920s and, together with his wife Aino Aalto, created numerous pieces of furniture that combined modern forms with natural materials. His architectural masterpieces include the Paimio Clinic in Turku (now a World Heritage Site), the library in Viipuri (in what is now Russia) and the Finnish pavilion at the 1939 New York World's Fair.
Artek - always modern
Artek was founded in Helsinki in 1935 by four young idealists: Alvar and Aino Aalto, Maire Gullichsen and Nils-Gustav Hahl. With their designs, they wanted to promote a modern culture of living. The radical spirit of its founders still lives in Artek today and so the company produces furniture from the world of modern design that stands at the interface of design, architecture and art. They are characterised by clarity, functionality and poetic simplicity.
Material and format
The Design Serving Trolley 901 by Artek is made of clear lacquered birch wood, the shelf is made of laminate and available in white or black, the wheels are MDF lacquered and rubber coated.
The serving trolley is 50 cm wide, 90 cm long and 56 cm high.
