Bell: A330S Golden Bell wall lamp by Artek
The wall lamp version of the Golden Bell adds another model to the popular design lamp by Alvar Aalto. The perforated edge of the shade creates a light ring effect and prevents the lamp from blinding you. A warm and at the same time diffuse light is created, which has a particularly homely effect.
The lamp is attached to a slim wall arm and can be rotated by 180 degrees so that the illuminance can be varied. The Golden Bell is available in hand-spun brass or powder-coated steel in black and white. Whether as an elegant reading lamp or at the sofa, armchair or even at the desk - the design lamp always looks particularly chic.
Designer Alvar Aalto
Alvar Aalto was one of the co-founders of Artek. During his life and his long career, he designed numerous important public facilities and private houses. Aalto's designs are unmistakably Finnish, yet very individual and bear witness to a warm humanity. His buildings are connected to their natural surroundings and base their aesthetics on excellently executed details and the ingenious use of lighting.
The design of furniture followed as a natural extension of his architectural thinking and in 1931 he designed his first piece of modern furniture for the tuberculosis sanatorium in Paimio, Finland. Artek was founded in 1935 to market and sell his and his wife's designs for furniture, lighting and textiles.
