A classic from Carl Hansen - CH25 is one of the first designs by Hans J. Wegner for Carl Hansen. Known for his well thought-out and perfectly shaped designs, the master carpenter has achieved worldwide fame. With the designer armchair CH25, Wegner succeeded in creating a piece of seating furniture that appears dynamic and timeless at the same time.
With its discreet southern flair, the design lounge chair CH25 fits into every room - be it the living room, the bedroom or as a highlight in the winter garden. Carl Hansen has always relied on high standards of workmanship and the use of manual labour. For example, it takes a craftsman a whole 10 hours to make the artistic paper yarn covering of a single CH25 armchair.
Carl Hansen & Søn - Danish Design since 1908
What began in 1908 as a small furniture workshop on the Danish island of Funen has developed into a successful and globally renowned design company. Since the carpenter Carl Hansen founded the company, two aspects have been in the foreground: the uncompromising commitment to the finest craftsmanship and the collaboration with exceptional designers.
Thus, the development of Carl Hansen & Søn was significantly influenced by the well-known Danish designer Hans J. Wegner. The creative connection with him began in 1949 when Carl Hansen's son met Wegner and enabled the then unknown designer to create an extensive furniture series. One part of the collection conceived at that time is the Wishbone Chair, also called CH24, which is absolutely well-known and popular today.
