Masterpiece: Cité armchair by Vitra
Designed as furniture for the student residence of the Cité University of Nancy, the Cité armchair is one of the early masterpieces of the French designer and constructor Jean Prouvé. He liked this design so much that he even placed it in the living room of his own house.
The spacious and comfortable armchair has powder-coated sheet steel skids and leather armrests.
Jean Prouvé - French design
Throughout his life, Jean Prouvé described himself as a constructor because he was both designer and producer of his designs. From letter openers to lamps and furniture to prefabricated houses - the work of the French designer is particularly extensive and includes just about everything that can be constructed and industrially produced.
Material and size
The seat and backrest upholstery is made of one-piece fabric (100% cotton) or leather. The height-adjustable neck cushion is made of polyurethane foam. The design chair has a formed sheet steel frame that is powder-coated smooth.
