Quiet sphere: DSL 23 floor lamp by Tecnolumen.

When switched on, the opal glass sphere becomes a luminous sphere, which provides a wonderfully diffuse light. The design is classic on the one hand and extravagant on the other. Higher, lower: the DSL 23 luminaire can be adjusted to the desired height. A screw on the frame makes it possible. Each luminaire is numbered consecutively and bears the Tecnolumen/R. Döcker mark.

Not everyone is familiar with the name Richard Döcker. Richard Döcker was born in Weilheim an der Teck in 1864. After studying architecture, he became a member of the Deutscher Werkbund and the Berliner Ring. He worked as a site manager in the Werkbund housing estate at Weissenhof and was responsible for the realisation of two houses (House 21 and 22). Döcker died in Stuttgart in 1968. The design of the Bauhaus floor lamp DSL 23 dates back to 1923/1926.

Tecnolumen - Design history with a future

Tecnolumen stands for lamps with a timeless and strong design and has done so for 35 years. A special focus of the manufacturer is on originals from the Bauhaus period, in addition to contemporary luminaires that are found in the same design spectrum. The Bremen-based manufactory produces lamps and utilitarian objects that are particularly popular with collectors. Careful craftsmanship, high-quality materials and true-to-the-original production turn the articles by Tecnolumen into exquisite design pieces.

Material and format

The DSL 23 Bauhaus lamp is made of nickel-plated metal and opal glass - not in the Far East, but in Germany. The diameter of the shade is 35 cm, the diameter of the base 40 cm. The design classic reaches a maximum height of two metres (minimum height: 1.60 metres). The manufacturer Tecnolumen recommends a bulb with an E27 socket and a maximum of 100 watts.

Please note that the bulb is not included in the delivery.
