With the Atlas coffee table, designer John Astbury has created a design object that is simple and at the same time incredibly strong in expression. The furniture has borrowed this strength from its namesake from the Greek mythology. Like the titan, the pillars of the table remain steadfast and lift the gently shaped tabletop into the air.
Inspired by the archetypal post-and-beam construction, the interplay of the geometric elements provides an exciting contrast that gives the coffee table its refined, brutalist expression
Material and format
Atlas can be ordered in two sizes: Compact and high with the dimensions W 60 x D 60 x H 35 cm or rather expansive and low with the dimensions W 82 x D 82 x H 26 cm
You also have a choice of material. Choose between light and airy, unfilled travertine or the strong, dark Costa marble.
