Avio is Finnish and means "married". The name is perfectly chosen for this series from the pen of Japanese designer Kazushige Miyake, because the joining of two halves creates a whole. The German company Blomus, based in Sundern in North Rhine-Westphalia, was founded in 1961 and is primarily known for its tasteful home accessories.
