Eileen Gray, an outstanding designer of the 20th century, not only designed some of the most important furniture classics of her time, but also had her own studio where she designed and had carpets made. The carpet collection by ClassiCon contains some of her most beautiful designs.
The Blue Marine carpet was designed by Eileen Gray for her house by the sea in the south of France.The carpet is a wonderful combination of shapes, lines and colours that blend harmoniously. Each element has been carefully placed to create a captivating and dynamic overall image. A life ring, which can be seen on the façade of Eileen Gray's house E1027 , is taken up again as a motif on the Blue Marine carpet.
Material and format
The Blue Marine carpet is hand-knotted in Nepal in the highest quality with a density of 80,000 knots per square metre. Made from 100% wool, it guarantees not only exceptional durability but also a comfortable feel underfoot.
