Shows the most beautiful decorations: The BM0253-2 shelf from Carl Hansen & Søn
The BM0253 shelving system series was designed in 1953 by Børge Mogensen to create a timeless and minimalist design for all needs. This is a low shelf, which is connected by simple metal struts. It is suitable for many different applications: To display your favourite books, to keep your loved ones in picture frames or to show beautiful decorative objects.
A fusion of aesthetics, function and craftsmanship, which is also made only from wood from ecologically and economically sustainable cultivation.
Børge Mogensen - Designer of Danish modernism
In Børge Mogensen's creative career, he has mainly designed durable pieces that focus on the human being. He became one of the most influential furniture designers of the post-war period and a leading representative of Danish modernism.
Mogensen's innovative design includes simple and functional wooden furniture for private and public spaces, with smooth aesthetics and strong construction as well as high quality. He believed in visual clarity and minimal decoration as can be seen in this piece.
Material and format:
The shelves are made of FSC® certified oiled oak. The frame is made of powder-coated steel. The shelf measures 150cm in width, 37cm in depth and 129cm in height. The smaller shelves have a width of 79cm and a depth of 37cm. On the low side the shelf measures about 75cm in height.
