However, the weatherproof stacking chair is not only beautiful to look at, but also has some practical features. On the one hand, the lightweight chair can bestacked to save space and quickly stowed away when not in use. On the other hand, the seat has several slits through which any rainwater can easily run off.

In the mid-1990s , Jan Kurtz founded his label in Affalterbach, Baden-Württemberg. After initially designing mainly furniture for outdoor use, Jan Kurtz expanded his range to include designer furniture and accessories for indoor use. Company founder and managing director Jan Kurtz wants to develop designs that integrate functionally and aesthetically into the living environment of their owners.

The frame is made of powder-coated aluminium. The chair measures 40 cm in depth, 45 cm in width and 82 cm in height. The chair can be loaded with up to 120 kg. The weight is 3.5 kg.
