The high-quality wooden parrot by Architectmade looks great on every window sill and every sideboard. The Discus 1 bird is made of high-quality pine, untreated around the eye area of the parrot. The rest of the bird is painted in blue and black to symbolize its plumage. The eye seems to be real giving the small wooden sculpture a very special liveliness.

The name comes from the ancient Greek sports equipment, because the Discus wooden birds are in the shape of a discus.

Parrot love

Designer Hans Bølling is known for his penchant for feathered inhabitants of the jungle. In many of his works there is a humorous reference to his beloved parrots. No surprise that designer Hans Bølling honoured his favourite birds with wooden sculptures in 1961.

As a certificate of authenticity Architectmade engraved the signature of Hans Bølling on the bottom of each Discus wooden bird.
