A legend returns After Vitra had to discontinue production of the Eames fibreglass chair in the 1990s, an alternative was found in the form of the plastic chairs made of polypropylene, which did not appeal to everyone. Without the vibrancy and structure of fibreglass, the Eames chairs had lost some of their character. Since 2018, the fibreglass chairs have been back with a new processing method - and in their former beauty!
Charles and Ray Eames - design duo
The Eames couple are among the most important personalities in the field of design in the 20th century. In addition to designing furniture, they also made films, took photographs and put together exhibitions. Vitra is the only authorised manufacturer of Eames products for Europe and the Middle East.
Material and format
With an organically shaped fibreglass shell available in nine fascinating colours, this barstool brings elegance and functionality to your kitchen, bar or work environment. The chrome-plated or black powder-coated four-legged base is stable and ensures a secure footing. The footrest has been specially developed for comfort and durability.
The seat shell of the fibreglass chairs is made of through-dyed, glass fibre-reinforced polyester (fibreglass). With the soft seat cushions, the chairs offer additional comfort and invite you to relax.
The chair measures 47.5 cm in width, 53.5 cm in depth and 108 cm in height. The seat height is 67 cm, the seat depth is 47.5 cm and the seat width is 44 cm.
