Constructive: EM Table Vitra
The famous designer and constructor Jean Prouvé designed a large number of beautifully shaped pieces of furniture, including the EM Table by Vitra. It was created for the "Maison Tropical" project and is distinguished by its construction down to the smallest detail. This follows an aesthetic necessity: a traverse connects the table legs and thus illustrates the course of forces and the static relationships that are otherwise only known from engineering structures.
Jean Prouvé - French design
Throughout his life, Jean Prouvé described himself as a constructor, for he was both designer and producer of his designs. From letter openers to lamps and furniture to prefabricated houses - the French designer's oeuvre is particularly extensive and encompasses just about everything that can be constructed and industrially manufactured.
Material and format
The table is available with a tabletop made of wood or HPL covering. The base is made of formed sheet steel and tubular steel that has been powder-coated.
