Artistic craftsmanship: Empatia 16 Tavolo table lamp by Artemide
Innovative LED technology and mouth-blown glass craftsmanship are combined in a perfect relationship - the Empatia table lamp by Artemide convinces with its simple yet eye-catching design.
For the development of the design lamp, the manufacturer worked together with masters of Venetian glass art. The result is a table lamp that creates an innovative balance between the glass surface and the light. A transparent rod made of polycarbonate with an extremely low absorption coefficient with maximum efficiency guides the light to the glass diffuser. For the benefit of the light output, the LED is thus thermally decoupled from the glass body.
Designer duo Carlotta de Bevilacqua & Paola Monaco di Arianello
Carlotta de Bevilacqua is an architect, designer and teacher. She studied architecture at the Politecnico di Milano and is Vice President & CEO of Artemide and President of Danese Milano. Her area of expertise is lighting. She has designed numerous products that have been awarded inventor patents and prizes.
Paola Monaco di Arianello was born in Genoa in 1982 and studied at the Faculty of Architecture in Genoa and at the University of Lapland, as well as at the Politecnico in Milan. She has been working with Carlotta de Bevilacqua since 2008. Her focus is on clarity, simplicity and quality, taking into account the different functional and psychological needs of users with her designs.
Material and format
The design lamp is made of mouth-blown glass, methacrylate and aluminium. The lamp has a diameter of 16 cm and a height of 19 cm.
