Modern: The Epic Coffee Table Steel by Gubi
Inspired by Greek antiquity and its monumental columns, GamFratesi designed the Epic Coffee Table for Gubi. Instead of the usually used travertine stone, the design studio relies on steel with the new Epic collection. A lacquer is applied in several layers and partially removed by hand in a traditional and highly specialised process known only to a few Italian craftsmen . Finally, a transparent protective layer is applied. The result is a unique and lively surface that takes on different shades and reflections depending on the incidence of light.
Design Studio GamFratesi
Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi form the design studio GamFratesi. Their style is based on a combination of tradition and modernity and is characterised by an experimental approach in which selected materials and techniques play a role. Thus, traditional Danish furniture and craftsmanship are combined with a classic Italian intellectual and conceptual approach.
Material and format
The base and the table top are made of stainless steel and galvanised steel. The coffee table has a diameter of 60 cm. The height of the table is 42 cm. The weight of the table is approx. 22 kg.
