An invitingly curved seat shell and simple chair legs made of powder-coated steel make the Fiber Side Chair by Muuto look particularly cool. But the chair can do even more: An innovative combination - plastic and wood fibres - creates a matt and simple look.
The simple, Scandinavian design comes from the design duo Iskos-Berlin.
Design duo Iskos-Berlin
The design duo from Copenhagen covers a wide range of tasks besides industrial and furniture design they are also active in the field of graphic design. Iskos-Berlin is active in collaborations with numerous well-known manufacturers. Many of their works can also be found in exhibitions in museums such as the MoMA in New York or the Danish Design Museum.
Material and format
The seat shell consists of an innovative composition of plastic and wood fibres. The Fiber Armchair and Side Chair have been made from recycled plastic since 2022. By replacing at least 80% of the new plastic in the production of the shell, Muuto minimises the use of new material and thus produces sustainably. The frame is made of powder-coated steel. The chair is 51 cm wide, 53 cm deep and 77 cm high.
