Perfect combination: Grand Repos armchair + ottoman by Vitra
The Grand Repos recliner brings more quality and comfort into everyday life - the unique Vitra lounge chair with its generous cushions ensures a particularly pleasant sitting experience.
A synchronous mechanism hidden inside the upholstery serves to move the armchair from an upright sitting position to a reclined resting position. You can lock the armchair in any position. The counterforce of the mechanism can also be manually adjusted to the user's weight. This provides optimum support for the back.
Whether fabric or leather, the special feature of this designer armchair is the decorative seams - they give the armchair an almost handcrafted and particularly contemporary appearance.
The matching ottoman rounds off the complete comfort package perfectly.
Antonio Citterio - Designer
Antonio Citterio opened his own design studio at the age of 22 and worked with Terry Dawn on buildings in Europe and Japan from 1987 to 1996. Together with Patricia Viel, he founded an interdisciplinary studio for architecture, interior design and graphic design in 2000. In addition to Vitra, he cooperates with many other well-known companies in the design furniture industry, such as B&B Italia, Flos, Kartell and Technogym.

Vitra's furniture classics are among the most groundbreaking designs of the 20th century. Even today, the manufacturer strives to combine technical know-how with creativity and contemporary design. Architects, companies and private design enthusiasts use Vitra products to create inspiring work and living spaces as well as public spaces.
Material and size
The Grand Repos is available in fabric and leather - below you will find a list of the possible covers. The four-star base made of die-cast aluminium is available in polished or powder-coated (basic dark = black, soft light = similar to ivory) finish.
The Ottoman consists of a plastic plate, polyurethane foam and polyester wadding. Its frame is made of die-cast aluminium.
The Grand Repos is hand sewn by a few selected and qualified Vitra employees. Depending on the manufacturer's order situation, a longer waiting time can therefore be expected.
Cover:
- Mello: 80% cotton, 20% polyester
- Cosy: 80% wool, 20% polyamide
- Credo: 95% virgin wool, 5% polyamide
- Dumet: 46% Cotton, 22% Wool, 15% RAyob, 8% Linen, 9% Polyamide
- Leather: 100% Leather
- Premium leather with contrasting stitching: semi-aniline dyed cowhide nappa leather with particularly soft handle
- Leather Grand: Semi-aniline cow nappa leather with natural fulling grain 1.5-1.7 mm
- Natural leather: Semi-aniline-nappa cowhide leather with natural fulling grain 1.5-1.7 mm
- Volo: 15% polyamide, 85% virgin wool
