Hee Welling Design
Designer Hee Welling designed the eponymous bar stool for Hay. The model was an archetypal chair model, which Hee Welling reduced to the essentials - strictly in keeping with the motto "Form follows function" - and wanted to improve its functionality.
The result is a barstool with steel bars that fits in every ambience. The Hee Bar Stool almost looks like an artistic three-dimensional pencil drawing.
Production
Hay makes the designer bar stool Hee Bar Stool made of galvanized and powder-coated steel, which makes it ideal for outdoor use.
The fact that the Hee Bar Stool consists of only one material has a good reason: Hay wanted to avoid unnecessary and environmentally harmful transport routes and simplify the recyclability.
The thickness of the steel bars was thoroughly tested - Hay concluded that 11 mm thick metal wire offers the best stability without sacrificing the look.
