Asymmetrical: Opala Mini pendant light mini by Carl Hansen & Søn
The Opala Mini pendant lamp is part of a lighting series that Hans J. Wegner designed back in 1973 for the Hotel Scandinavia in Copenhagen. Straight lines, a slightly inclined, asymmetrical lampshade made of opal acrylic glass with a crown made of lacquered aluminium - the Oplala luminaire has an unmistakably beautiful design. It casts a focussed light downwards, but at the same time gently illuminates the surrounding space.

Carl Hansen & Søn - Danish design since 1908
What began in 1908 as a small furniture workshop on the Danish island of Funen has developed into a successful and globally recognised design company. Since the carpenter Carl Hansen founded the company, two aspects have taken centre stage: an uncompromising commitment to the finest craftsmanship and collaboration with exceptional designers. The development of Carl Hansen & Søn was significantly influenced by the well-known Danish designer Hans J. Wegner. The creative connection with him began in 1949 when Carl Hansen's son met Wegner and enabled the then still unknown designer to design an extensive furniture series. The now world-famous Wishbone Chair, also known as CH24, is part of the collection conceived at that time.
