Noble: Hudson Armchair Emeco
This design chair by Emeco is a highlight in any ambience! Designed for the Hudson Hotel in New York City, it radiates noble elegance and captivates with its highly polished aluminium surface. The curved armrests and slightly flared back chair legs add a romantic flair to the otherwise clean lines, all in all a truly regal design by one of the kings of the design world, Philippe Starck. Each chair is hand-polished for eight hours until it meets the standards of the designer and Emeco.

Gregg Buchbinder of Emeco was in the audience at a speech Philippe Starck gave at the ICFF in New York in 1999. Later in the hallway, Gregg saw Starck and said, "Mr. Starck, thank you so much for using our chairs at the Paramount Hotel." After thinking for a moment, Starck asked, "The Navy Chair? Do you own that company? I thought it was owned by a bunch of army guys. I'd love to design a chair for Emeco." Thus began a close, lasting and productive relationship between Emeco and Philippe Starck - a relationship that launched Emeco's transformation from a US Navy supplier to one of the top design furniture brands. Since then, Starck and later even more renowned designers have taken the Navy chair out of its original context and reinterpreted it for Emeco.
