Awakens feelings of colour: Ijhorst stool/side table from Spectrum
A stool like no other - the Ijhorst stool from Spectrum adds a splash of colour to any room. It comes in three different colours to suit every taste. The Ijhorst stool was designed by artist Constant Nieuwenhuys for the Spectrum collection in 1953. It consists of the same base as the side table designed in the same year with a rounder top.
Material and format
The unusual geometric base, made of thin steel wire, elegantly illustrates the interaction of compressive and tensile forces. The frame is made of epoxy-coated steel, while the top is made of stained plywood and finished with a transparent matt lacquer. The stool is 43 cm high and has a diameter of 35 cm.
