Joyful: East River Chair armchair by Vitra
With its distinctive shape and the informal combination of different materials such as metal, wood, fabric and leather, the East River Chair armchair from Vitra bears the unmistakable signature of the Dutch designer Hella Jongerius.
The design armchair is equipped with a practical carrying handle on the backrest (back). So you have the armchair exactly where you need it.
Designer Hella Jongerius
Hella Jongerius is known for combining industrial and handicraft. This is how tradition and modernity always succeed in combining. In 1993 she opened her design studio Jongeriuslab, where she implements her own projects and works for clients.
In addition to the East River Chair hart Jongerius also designed the famous Polder Sofa for Vitra. She has also worked for several years as Art Director for colours & materials for Vitra.
Material and size
The East River Chair is available with a natural oak wood frame and an ivory powder-coated steel leg cross or in dark oak with a coffee powder-coated steel leg cross.
The seat and backrest can be ordered in leather, Hopsak fabric (100% polyamide), Laser (100% polyester Trevira CS) or Plano (100% polyester). The seat shell is also laminated.
The design armchair is 64 cm wide, 71 cm deep and 74 cm high. The seat height is 40 cm.
