A statement in the hallway: S 1520 wall coat rack by Thonet

The wall-mounted coat rack complements the S 1521 shoe rack. Whether used individually or together, the two pieces of coat rack furniture impress with their simplicity and expressiveness. The interplay of elegantly curved tubular steel and black shelves has an exceptionally elegant effect and is an eye-catcher in any entrance area. Thanks to concealed coat hooks, nothing disturbs the clean, linear look. But you don't just get perfect design - the shelf combination with its shelves made of hard-wearing translucent mesh is also convincing in functional terms.

Thonet - over 200 years of tradition

The Frankenberg-based manufacturer stands for durability and an irrepressible drive for innovation. Thonet was the first manufacturer to bring bentwood furniture to the market and the first to market tubular steel furniture. Michael Thonet founded his own workshop in Boppard am Rhein in 1819. In the 1830s he experimented with strips of veneer boiled in glue and is therefore regarded as the inventor of "furniture made of bent wood". In 1842, he was invited to Vienna by the Austrian state chancellor Prince Metternich and the coffee house culture there laid the foundation for Thonet's later success. Given this desire for innovation, it is not surprising that Thonet also cultivated links with the Bauhaus and Marcel Breuer. Thus Thonet implemented Breuer's experiments with cold-bent tubular steel and produced the famous cantilever chairs.

Material and format

The frame of the 100 cm wide and 36.5 cm high coat rack is made of chromed tubular steel. The 25 cm deep shelves for handbags or hats are made of a black plastic mesh.
