Ringelpiez: Ringelpiez Floor Lamp by Ingo Maurer
This unusual floor lamp is visually reminiscent of the famous medieval ring piercing, in which knights tried to "pierce" a ring with their lance while galloping, i.e. to collect it and thus impress the ladies of the court.
The Ringelpiez floor lamp by Ingo Maurer is a functional and flexible floor lamp that can be used as an uplight or downlight and is perfect next to armchairs and sofas as a reading light. The base of the lamp is a flat, light grey hemisphere, which reminds of the surface of the moon due to the chosen rough material.
The designer Ingo Maurer convinces since 1966 with special and unique light creations, which he not only designs but also produces himself.
Processing
The angle of the aluminium ring, which forms the socket for the LEDs, is adjustable, as is the orientation of the ring upwards or downwards. The rod can be fixed vertically or at an angle of 15 degrees, for which there are two openings in the base. It is extendable from 150 cm to 210 cm. Despite the adjustability, the cable runs in the rod and makes the floor lamp look clear and precise.
