Tall: BST 23 floor lamp by Tecnolumen
The fact that the BST 23 floor lamp was designed as early as 1923 does not show at all - and that is a good thing! Because this extravagant lamp is also a highlight in modern homes.
We owe the design to a certain Gyula Pap, a Hungarian designer. The floor lamp is a true Bauhaus child, as it saw the light of day in the metal workshop at the Staatliches Bauhaus in Weimar. Tecnolumen now produces the BST 23 in series. Each lamp is consecutively numbered and marked with the Tecnolumen and Bauhaus sign.
The floor lamps are made of black lacquered iron, nickel-plated brass and etched glass. The base consists of a black lacquered iron plate. On top of this is a tube, which in turn supports a frosted glass plate. The light source is visible and should have a mirrored dome. This is how Gyula Pap intended it, as he designed the floor lamp at the time for this new type of light bulb. The BST 23 Bauhaus lamp is 168 cm high, the base has a diameter of 40 cm, the lamp shade is 37 cm. Tecnolumen recommends the following bulb: E27 socket, maximum 75 watts.
