With history: PK 91 / PK91 folding stool Fritz Hansen
The PK 91 folding stool designed by Poul Kjærholm also showed its historical derivation here. The PK91 stool goes back to an ancient Egyptian folding stool from around 1500 BC. It is part of the permanent exhibition of the Röhsska Museum in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Material and format
The Fritz Hansen folding stool can be ordered with a seat made of leather or canvas. The frame is available in satin-brushed stainless steel.
Leather qualities:
You can find the following material and leather qualities online:
Classic leather:
Chrome-tanned, processed, strong grain and hard-wearing surface. High light fastness. Thickness 1.4-1.6 mm.
White leather:
Chrome tanned aniline leather, full grain with structure and protective varnish. Please note that white is more sensitive than other colours. Thickness 1,4-1,6 mm.
Optical white leather:
Chrome tanned, full grain, finished, with light protective varnish. Please note that the white is more sensitive than other colours. Thickness 1.4-1.6 mm.
Rustic leather:
Vegetable-tanned, completely chrome-free aniline leather without protective varnish with a light impregnation and visible natural features. Becomes lighter with use and acquires a patina. Thickness 1.2-1.4 mm.
Natural leather:
Vegetable-tanned, completely chrome-free natural leather without colour or protective varnish. Darkens with use and acquires a patina. Thickness 1.2-1.4 mm.
Elegance leather:
Vegetable & chrome-tanned aniline leather, full-grain, with light structure and light impregnation. Becomes lighter with use and gets patinated. Thickness approx. 1.4-1.6 mm.
Canvas:
90% new wool (combed), 10% nylon
