Straight: B 108 console table Thonet

Tubular steel furniture and Thonet are closely linked, as the company has been manufacturing them since their beginnings. Just like the beautifully shaped and elegant console table B108. It has two storage compartments. His design was already created in 1930/31 in his own Thonet factory. Due to its simple and slender form, it can be placed in any living/dining room or hallway.

Thonet - 200 years of tradition

The Frankenberg-based manufacturer stands for consistency and the irrepressible urge for innovation. Thonet was the first manufacturer to introduce bentwood furniture to the market and to distribute tubular steel furniture. Michael Thonet founded his own workshop in Boppard am Rhein in 1819. In the 1830s he experimented with veneer strips boiled in glue and is therefore considered the inventor of the "furniture made of bent wood". In 1842 he was invited to Vienna by the Austrian chancellor Prince Metternich and the coffee house culture there laid the foundation for the later success of Thonet. With this will to innovate, it is not surprising that Thonet also had connections to the Bauhaus and Marcel Breuer. Thonet implemented his experiments with cold-bent tubular steel and produced the famous cantilever chairs.
