Versatile: OOp's 2 wall light from Ingo Maurer
Reduced to the absolute essentials, the Oops wall light from Ingo Maurer is nothing more than a strip of paper pinned to the wall. However, a light source is hidden at the lower end, enveloping the paper in a pleasant interplay of light and shadow. The filigree paper lamp is made of 300g/sqm paper and a colourless cable with an integrated dimmer switch. The concealed light source can be replaced by the user.
Ingo Maurer - creative lighting design made in Munich
Until his death at the end of 2019, Ingo Maurer was probably one of the most popular lighting designers in the world. Originally from Lake Constance, the typesetter initially studied commercial graphics in Munich before emigrating to the USA in 1960 to work as a graphic designer. Back in Munich in 1966, he founded Design M, a company specialising in industrial design. His famous bulb light dates back to this time and is already on display in the Design Collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York at the end of the 1960s. With the rise of the design manufactory and a growing team, the company was renamed Ingo Maurer GmbH. The extraordinary designs from Ingo Maurer bear witness to a fascination for light, design and art without neglecting functionality and the special effect on people. The products are still manufactured by hand at the Munich site today.
