Designer Ettore Sottsass
Ettore Sottsass was born in Innsbruck in 1917. On an international level, he is regarded as an initiator for the renewal of design and architecture. It is thanks to him that the rigid functionalism of the pre-war and post-war years could be overcome. His designs bear witness to energy and vitality in comparison to the intellectualism and stiffness prevailing at the time. Ettore Sottsass died in 2007.
