Clamp monkey: Tolomeo Pinza wall lamp by Artemide
Perfect for anyone who likes it flexible - the Tolomea Pinza wall lamp by Artemide is attached by means of a clamp and can thus be freely used wherever you want. Like the other lamps of the Tolomeo series, it impresses with its simple and industrial design.
Design duo Michele De Lucchi & Giancarlo Fassina
Michele de Lucchi graduated in architecture at the Politecnico in Milan. From 1989 to 1993, he worked with Studio Sottsass Associati on various architectural and industrial design projects before setting up his own studio in 1994. Among other things, he worked on important architectural projects in the north-east of Italy, such as Enel's historic archive centre in Mestre.
Giancarlo Fassina quickly concentrated on lighting design after his studies at the Milan Politecnico. Light is part of Fassina's vocation - he is fascinated by every detail and studied shadows, angles and exposure factors.
Together with Michele De Lucchi, he won the Compasso d'Oro in 1989 for the design of Artemide's Tolomeo luminaires.
Material and format
The design lamp consists of aluminium and plastic-stabilised parchment paper. The base is made of polished aluminium. Furthermore, the luminaire has a spring balancing system.
