Fritz Hansen - Visionary Design since 1872
Fritz Hansen, that is an exclusive design brand, which is characterised by timeless collections and world-famous classic and contemporary furniture, lamps and accessories. The company was founded in Denmark in 1872. In the 1950s, the famous designer Arne Jacobsen is responsible for the design at Fritz Hansen. In 1979, the until then family-run company becomes part of the Skandinavisk Holding. At the same time, Verner Panton is in the centre of attention as a leading avant-garde figure and shapes the design of the manufacturer immensely. And so Fritz Hansen is constantly developing and yet always keeps the long history and tradition in mind by continuing to focus on the cooperation with international and visionary designers.
Material and format
The Fritz Hansen sofa is offered in different leather groups and colours. The frame is made of matt chromed spring steel.
Aura leather:
Chrome-tanned, processed, strong grain and hard-wearing surface. High light fastness. Thickness 1.4-1.6 mm.
White leather:
Chrome tanned aniline leather, full grain with texture and protective varnish. Please note that white is more sensitive than other colours. Thickness 1,4-1,6 mm.
Optical white leather:
Chrome tanned, full grain, finished, with light protective varnish. Please note that the white is more sensitive than other colours. Thickness 1.4-1.6 mm.
Rustic leather:
Vegetable-tanned, completely chrome-free aniline leather without protective varnish with a light impregnation and visible natural features. Becomes lighter with use and acquires a patina. Thickness 1.2-1.4 mm.
Natural leather:
Vegetable-tanned, completely chrome-free natural leather without colour or protective varnish. Darkens with use and acquires a patina. Thickness 1.2-1.4 mm.
Grace leather:
Vegetable & chrome tanned aniline leather, full grain, with light structure and light impregnation. Becomes lighter with use and gets patin. Thickness approx. 1.4-1.6 mm.
Embrace leather:
Thickness 1.2-1.4 mm. Chrome-tanned, grained, exceptional soft aniline with special waxing for a light oily surface. Visible natural features (e.g. neck wrinkles).
