Description
Triple: PH 3/2 Academy pendant lamp by Louis Poulsen
The cooperation between the famous designer Poul Henningsen and Louis Poulsen started already in 1925/26. Lamps for a Paris exhibition were created, which laid the foundation of a popular series that comprises 30 models.
The common feature of the lamps is the three-part shade, which even appears in triple form in the PH 3/2 Academy. As with all designs, Poul Henningsen's main concern was to create luminaires with glare-free light, so that they cast soft shadows and the light cone is perfectly aligned.
Louis Poulsen - lighting design from Denmark
The Danish luminaire manufacturer was already founded in 1874 and since then has been producing products that are dedicated to the duality of design and light. The luminaires are designed for various purposes and are therefore particularly functional. Louis Poulsen produces indoor as well as outdoor lights in close cooperation with well-known designers such as Poul Henningsen, Arne Jacobsen, Verner Panton, Øivind Slaatto, Alfred Homann, Oki Sato and GamFratesi. Thus, the manufacturer has established itself as one of the most important global suppliers of lighting elements .
