Unfold the light: The W pendant by marset
The The W pendant by PerezOchando is an impressive lighting element from 2022, designed to either unfold or focus the light by adjusting the size to meet the different requirements of large spaces .
The design of The W pendant lamp is inspired by an old rotary reel, a tool for winding threads or wires. Pedro Ochando and Claudia Pérez, the designers, were primarily interested in the shape, which allowed a vertical movement with a horizontal effect.
With its flexible design and impressive lighting effect, The W pendant luminaire is a decorative luminaire with a memorable profile that can be easily sketched. It is the perfect choice to stylishly illuminate large spaces and create an inviting atmosphere.
Material and format
The design of the luminaire is light, simple and functional, and it presents itself with great presence. The size of the luminaire can be varied by spreading it out to a diameter of up to 2 metres for large rooms or retracting it to 1.2 metres in diameter to limit the lighting to a smaller area. The height can vary between 30 cm and 74 cm.
The luminaire consists of a vertical, black aluminium structure as the central axis, from which several struts extend. These struts can be moved up and down to enlarge or reduce the light cone.
Each strut is equipped with a spotlight that emits the light downwards. The total of 14 cylindrical spot lights have an inner ring in ivory, terracotta or gold. In combination, the spotlights create a large, uniform cone of light. The diffusers are made of aluminium and polycarbonate.
