Nothing can knock down this table base in a hurry: No wonder it consists of a solid, oval block of marble.
Despite its cantilevered base, the Lato coffee table seems anything but heavy. How does it do that? Through a delicate wooden tabletop that floats on top of the base.
Different versions
You can order the Lato side table online in two versions. Choose between the dark version with a base made of noble Emparador marble and a tabletop made of lacquered walnut and the light version made of delicate Crema Diva marble in combination with lacquered oak.
For both versions, you can choose between the oval and the round version. The designer table with the round top (LN8) is 50 cm high and the one with the oval top (LN9) is 45 cm high.
The design
The Lato table was designed by Luca Nichetto. What was Nichetto inspired by? From a lollipop! More precisely, from an upside-down lollipop.
The designer grew up in Murano, a group of islands northeast of Venice. Murano is famous for its exclusive Murano glass, so it is hardly surprising that Nichetto also has a penchant for precious materials. The best example: the Lato side table for the Danish design label &tradition Copenhagen.
