Form and function
Egon Eiermann made high demands on the design of his folding chair for Wilde + Spieth. Thus, he created a thrilling chair, which stands out from the crowd thanks to its extravagant lines. This was also recognized by design experts at an early stage, so the folding chair SE 18, designed in 1952, was awarded with the Good Design Award of the Museum of Modern Art in New York in the following year and included in the permanent collection of the museum.
Thanks to the combination of solid beech and beech veneer, the design chair is stable and ergonomic at the same time. Small space requirement is the great advantage of folding chairs - but not all can be stacked so easily while standing as the Egon Eiermann chair SE 18.
