The Wire Stools by Charles and Ray Eames represent a remarkable interpretation of the classic Wire Chair made of welded steel wire. These chairs embody the Eames' endeavour to design organically shaped seat shells with an expression of light transparency and high technical sophistication.
The Wire Stools are not only suitable for indoor use, but can also be used outdoors in the non-upholstered version , which further increases their versatility.
Charles and Ray Eames - design duo
The Eames couple are among the most important personalities in the field of design in the 20th century. In addition to designing furniture, the pair also made films, took photographs and put together exhibitions. Vitra is the only authorised manufacturer of Eames products for Europe and the Middle East.
Material and format
The Wire Stools are made of high-quality wire mesh. The chrome-plated or black powder-coated four-legged base ensures stability and robustness and is equipped with a footrest to provide additional comfort.
A special feature of the Wire Stools is their versatility in upholstery. They can be purchased unupholstered, which emphasises their industrial charm, or fitted with a seat cushion for a subtle increase in comfort. In addition, they are also available with a combined seat and back cushion, affectionately known as a'bikini', which not only provides additional comfort but also further enhances the aesthetic appearance of the chairs.
Available in medium and high heights, the Wire Stools offer a variety of uses, whether at the bar, in the kitchen or in the living area.
Available in two different sizes:
- Medium: the chair measures 51.5 cm in width, 50.5 cm in depth and 111 cm in height. The seat height is 67 cm, the seat depth is 45 cm and the seat width is 48 cm.
- High: The chair measures 55.5 cm in width, 53 cm in depth and 112.5 cm in height. The seat height is 79.5 cm, the seat depth is 44.5 cm and the seat width is 48 cm.
