Noble stool: Hal Ply Barstool Barstool by Vitra
A formally restrained seat shell combined with a flexible one-legged frame that can be rotated and adjusted in height - the Hal Barstool bar stool is one of the more unusual relatives from the Hal collection. Its gas spring mechanism allows it to sink in slightly, giving the barstool a particularly good level of comfort.
The Hal Chair Collection
Unusual designs can be combined less well with existing furnishings than plain and simple designs. This is also how Jasper Morrisons sees it and has designed a collection with the Hal chairs, which is characterised by clear and contemporary shapes and multifunctional seat shells. The Hal collection is composed of 15 different bases and various seat shells made of plywood or with a lightly upholstered leather cover. In addition, some chairs are available with a seat cover in different fabric colours.
Jasper Morrison - Designer
The designer Jasper Morrison lives and works in London and Tokyo. He describes his work himself as "super normal " - because instead of unusual shapes, colours and materials, he focuses on the reinterpretation of the tried and tested and the further development of familiar solutions. He has been working with Vitra since 1989.
Material and format
The seat shell is made of plywood in natural oak, dark oak or walnut and can be rotated. The wood comes from the USA. The base is made of tubular steel and is height-adjustable. It has a powder-coated gas spring, a connecting tube and a footrest made of chromed tubular steel with an anti-slip coating.
The chair is 47 cm wide, 49 cm deep and 101.5 - 111 cm high. The seat height is 66.5 - 76 cm.
