Reedition

GTV Design, the Viennese branch of the Thonet family, holds the licences to reproduce the Thonet designer furniture according to the original designs of the Thonet brothers. This is how the P29 clothes stand also found its way into the extensive collection of the classic manufacturer.

Original bentwood design

Like many other designs by the Thonet brothers, the P29 coat stand is also made of bentwood. For this purpose, the solid beech wood is treated with steam until it can be bent into the desired shape.

The P29 coat stand is characterised above all by its simple design, which ensures that it fits into any living environment. It is precisely this formal simplicity that is in the context of the time when the coat stand was created: designed in 1929, the design of the stand reflects the orientation of the post-war period, in which industrial modernism with a reduced design language was predominant.

Stained beech
