Sustainable: About A Chair AAC212 / AAC 212 by Hay
The About A Chair by Hay is probably the most famous creation by designer Hee Welling. With its minimalist, Scandinavian design and the concise material combination of wood and recycled post consumer plastic, it now sets new standards again. The international bestseller is at home in both private and public spaces.
The AAC 212 model also combines aesthetics and seating comfort: it features a curved shell with a slightly higher back and a slightly deeper, more generous seat.
About A Chair Collection
Conscious and simple - the chairs from the About A Chair Collection by Hay follow simple and plain lines so that they can be easily combined with other furnishing objects. They complement a variety of styles perfectly and can therefore also be used perfectly in the contract sector. The simplicity ensures a special multifunctionality and combinability. Wooden and metal frames, unupholstered and upholstered seat shells - each variant shows a restrained elegance that discreetly enhances every room.
Designer Hee Welling
The Danish designer Hee Welling attended the University of Art and Design in Helsinki and graduated with a Master's degree in furniture design from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. Since 2003, he has dedicated himself to creating furniture, lighting and industrial designs in his studio in Copenhagen. He has received various awards, including the BoBedre Design Award (Denmark) and the Good Design Award (USA). His designs are used in international institutions such as the Oslo Opera House and the Australian Parliament.
Hay - contemporary furniture from Denmark
Founded in 2002, the Danish manufacturer Hay pursues the goal of creating furniture that meets the needs of modern life and is accessible to the widest possible audience. Inspired by the stable structures of architecture and the dynamic turns of fashion, Hay combines the values of both industries and creates durable and appealing quality products.
Material and format
The design chair consists of a frame made of oak wood, finished with a water-based varnish, and a seat shell made of 100% recycled household waste. For the seat shell, you can now choose from the exciting 2.0 colour variations - including 9 completely new colours and a new white!
It is 59 cm wide, 54 cm deep, 82 cm high and has a seat height of 46.5 cm.
