Light and sustainable: ACX Mesh office swivel chair Vitra
The most important aspects of our time come together in this design swivel chair: sustainability and flexibility. ACX is already the tenth office swivel chair that Vitra has developed in collaboration with Antonio Citterio. In its overall appearance and creation, ACX is designed for a long life and thus a low CO2 footprint. An automatic synchronous mechanism makes the swivel chair suitable for a wide range of users. Ergonomic comfort - without a long adjustment process! The clean lines and choice of attractive covers ensure that the swivel chair enhances the room in any environment.
Sustainability first
The design, materials and manufacture of ACX are geared towards a long life cycle, while at the same time keeping the design chair's carbon footprint as low as possible. ACX's design uses few components, which makes iteasy to maintain. The parts are made of recycled materials wherever possible - up to 60% depending on the model - and can be easily separated and recycled again at the end of the product's life. Thus, ACX is up to 100 % recyclable, depending on the model.
Flexible use for every person
The mechanism of ACX automatically adjusts to the user's weight: This means that even light or tall people can immediately sit comfortably and with the appropriate support throughout the entire range of movement. Only the seat height needs to be adjusted individually. This makes ACX particularly suitable for environments in which dynamic work processes and desk sharing have replaced sitting in the same chair all the time.
Material and format
ACX Mesh differs from the two other models in the office chair family - ACX Light and Soft - in that its backrest is covered with a knitted fabric. This cover in a semi-transparent mesh look is made of recycled polyester and is available in seven colours - which, together with the two frame colours in dark and light, makes many combinations possible. The seat is also available with the knitted cover or with the Plano fabric.
The backrests of the ACX models Mesh and Soft are covered with a three-dimensional knitted cover that is pulled over the backrest construction like a made-to-measure suit. The knitted cover is made of 100% recycled polyester. The knitted cover of the seat matches both back covers. The colours in natural tones match the dark and light frame colour, some have a slight mélange effect.
The ACX's controls for all functions are seamlessly integrated into the cover under the seat. When the seat depth is adjusted, the control levers "slide" forwards and backwards with it and the functions are triggered via Bowden cables. The mechanism is available with or without forward tilt, all other functions - height, seat depth, locking and two-stage automatic backrest counterforce - are always included.
