Fusion: Dapper Lounge Armchair by Hay
The Dapper Lounge armchair by Hay is the product of the fusion of industrial design, fine craftsmanship, storytelling and technology. The design armchair features an extra wide backrest for added comfort and optimal elbow support for laptop work.
Designstudio Doshi Levien
The design studio Doshi Levien was founded in London in 2000 by Nipa Doshi and Jonathan Levien. Doshi grew up in India and studied at the National Institute of Design, while Jonathan, who comes from Scotland, trained as a carpenter and later as an industrial designer. They both met while studying at the Royal College of Art. In 2008, they were awarded the prestigious Future Legends of Design by the Cooper Hewitt National Museum of Design in New York. The two are a well-coordinated team - while Doshi is mainly concerned with visual culture, an aesthetic understanding of the world and the materiality of things, Levien focuses more on industrial precision and technology.
Material and size
The frame of the armchair is made of powder-coated steel and the wooden seat and upholstery in different finishes. The armchair is 70 cm wide, 65 cm deep and 74.5 cm high. The seat height is 43 cm.
