The Grand Repos recliner brings more quality and comfort to everyday life - the unique lounge chair from Vitra ensures a particularly comfortable sitting experience with its generous upholstery.

A synchronised mechanism hidden inside the upholstery is used to move the chair from an upright sitting position to a reclined resting position. You can lock the chair in any position. The counterforce of the mechanism can also be manually adjusted to the user's weight. This provides optimum support for the back.

Whether fabric or leather, the special feature of this designer armchair is the decorative stitching - it gives the armchair an almost handcrafted and particularly contemporary look.

The matching ottoman rounds off the overall comfort package perfectly.

Antonio Citterio - Designer

Antonio Citterio opened his own design studio at the age of 22 and worked together with Terry Dawn on buildings in Europe and Japan from 1987 to 1996. Together with Patricia Viel, he founded an interdisciplinary studio for architecture, interior design and graphic design in 2000. In addition to Vitra, he co-operates with many other well-known companies in the design furniture industry, e.g. B&B Italia, Flos, Kartell and Technogym.

Material and format

The Grand Repos is available in fabric and leather - see below for a list of possible covers. The four-star base made of die-cast aluminium is available in a polished or powder-coated finish (basic dark=black, soft light=similar to ivory).

The ottoman consists of a plastic plate, polyurethane foam and polyester wadding. Its frame is made of die-cast aluminium.

The Grand Repos is sewn by hand by a small number of selected and qualified Vitra employees. Depending on the manufacturer's order situation, a longer waiting time can therefore be expected.
