Elegant: CH26 chair from Carl Hansen
Exceptional craftsmanship meets classic elegance - may we introduce? The CH26 dining chair. The designer Hans J. Wegner created the CH26 design exclusively for Carl Hansen & Søn back in 1950.
However, the chair only came to life in 2016 when production began in close collaboration with the Hans J. Wegner design studio based on Wegner's original working drawings. The chair joins a collection of iconic chairs that Wegner designed for the Danish manufacturer.
The CH26 dining chair resembles the lounge version due to its organic shapes and refined back. The hand-woven seat and the proportions of the designer chair are made for prolonged sitting at the dining table or desk.
Designer Hans J. Wegner
As one of the most creative, innovative and productive Danish designers, Wegner is often referred to as the master of the chair. During his lifetime, he designed more than 500 chairs, many of which are masterpieces. The legendary Wishbone Chair is probably one of his most famous designs and has been in continuous production since 1950. Wegner's focus as a designer was on bringing the soul of the furniture to the outside world through its simplicity and functionality.
Material and format
The classic is available in different versions. You can choose between soaped, oiled or black oak with a natural wickerwork seat and black oak with black wickerwork.
The chair is 59.2 cm wide, 51.9 cm deep and 79.8 cm high. The seat height is 44.5 cm and the armrests are 67.5 cm high.
