The AJ lamp series by Louis Poulsen was designed like many other design furniture by Arne Jacobsen for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen in 1957. The collection is characterised by a clear and stylised look. Especially the glare-free shade shows the thought-out form, because it can be perfectly aligned and swivelled as desired.
AJ Series - Arne Jacobsen
The iconic lamp was already designed in 1957 by star designer Arne Jacobsen. He was entrusted with the furnishing of the Hotel SAS Royal in Copenhagen, which included the complete interior design - from the furniture to the lighting. In the course of this, the AJ design lamp was created. Due to the sophisticated shape of the lampshade, the AJ provides an absolutely glare-free light. This can be perfectly aligned, because the asymmetrical lampshade can be swivelled as desired.
