The L'Oiseau dove of peace from Vitra has now become a well-known classic. Its stylised nature motif - the archaic-looking bird figure with its minimalist form is reminiscent of the clarity of objects from Nordic folk art. The figurine is produced in an elaborate handcrafting process, now also in this cork version.
Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec
The Bouroullec design duo consists of brothers Ronan and Erwan, who were born in Quimper, France. The two have been running their design studio in the Belleville neighbourhood of Paris as equal partners since 1999. From small everyday objects to large architectural projects - their field of work is extremely varied.
Material and format
The dove is made of cork. It is 24.5 cm wide, 6 cm deep and 15 cm high.
