It was only in 2018 that the design of the Little Giraffe surfaced in the archives of Fritz Hansen, the sculptural armchair by designer Arne Jacobsen had not been in production until then. The design of the chair is nevertheless absolutely contemporary and perfectly complements every modern home or public space. In the swivel chair version, it is ideally suited for the home office or flexible workplaces as well as meeting rooms.
Fritz Hansen - Visionary Design since 1872
Fritz Hansen, that is an exclusive design brand, which is characterised by timeless collections and world-famous classic and contemporary furniture, lamps and accessories. The company was founded in Denmark in 1872. In the 1950s, the famous designer Arne Jacobsen is responsible for the design at Fritz Hansen. In 1979, the until then family-run company becomes part of the Skandinavisk Holding. At the same time, Verner Panton is in the centre of attention as a leading avant-garde figure and shapes the design of the manufacturer immensely. And so Fritz Hansen is constantly developing and yet always keeps the long history and tradition in mind by continuing to focus on the cooperation with international and visionary designers.
Material and Format
The chair is available in different versions. It is 64 cm wide, 61 cm deep and 96 cm high. The seat height can be adjusted between 43 and 54 cm.
You will find the following fabric and leather qualities:
- Fame: 95% wool, 5% polyamide
- Tonus: 90% worsted wool, 10% Helanca
- Hallingdal: 70% pure wool, 30% viscose
- Divina / Divina Melange: 100% pure wool
- Canvas: 90% pure new wool (combed), 10% nylon
- Fiord: 92% new wool (combed), 8% nylon
- Steelcut Trio: 90% new wool (combed), 10% nylon
- Christianshavn: 85% New Zealand wool, 15% poylamide
- Embrace leather: thickness 1.2-1.4 mm. Chrome-tanned, grained, exceptional soft aniline with special waxing for a light oily finish. Visible natural features (e.g. neck wrinkles).
- Natural leather: Vegetable-tanned, completely chrome-free natural leather without colour or protective varnish. Darkens with use and acquires a patina. Thickness 1.2-1.4 mm.
- Rustik leather: Vegetable-tanned, completely chrome-free aniline leather without protective varnish with a light impregnation and visible natural features. Becomes lighter with use and acquires a patina. Thickness 1.2-1.4 mm.
- Grace leather: Vegetable & chrome tanned aniline leather, full-grain, with light structure and light impregnation. Becomes lighter with use and gets patin. Thickness approx. 1.4-1.6 mm.
