In collaboration with the Front design collective , Tom Dixon has developed a revolutionary pendant light with two characters: Melt.
The keyword is "vacuum metallisation": the polycarbonate lampshade is partially coated with metal on the inside - the effect becomes apparent as soon as you switch on the Melt luminaire .
Its partly transparent, partly metallised interior is then illuminated and makes the lampshade shimmer like liquid, hand-blown glass. The irregular lamp shape perfects the illusion, as it emphasises the melting, flowing impression.
