Mono - the name says it all
Kasper Nyman gave his chair the fitting name Mono because the seat shell consists of one continuous piece of wood.
As this would not have been possible in this form using normal veneer techniques, Woud used so-called Grada laminated wood for production. This thermoplastic oak wood can be moulded into the desired shape using heat and pressure. This creates the distinctive seat shell with the characteristic teardrop-shaped recess at the back, which makes the designer chair so unmistakable.
Kasper Nyman
Kasper Nyman is an up-and-coming Finnish designer who has been working with the Danish manufacturer Woud for some time now. The focus is on identity, function and quality - cornerstones that Kasper Nyman applies to each of his design creations.
Woud perfectly realises Nyman's ideas directly in Denmark.
Stability and comfort
For the frame, Woud has used solid oak wood, which has been moulded into a stable frame shape. This frame forms a visually perfect unit with the seat shell. À propops seat shell: thanks to the moulded curves, sitting on the Mono Dining Chair for long periods is very comfortable.
