Turning old into stylish: Ocean Outdoor Table 2 people from Mater
A small outdoor table just waiting to be filled with coffee, cocktails or the finest food. It's the most beautiful outdoors! And with its simple, straightforward design, it also stands out optically from the many outdoor tables you are familiar with. The fact that the table was already designed in 1955 is not apparent.
The Mater table is designed for two people and is therefore the ideal table for small balconies.
Material and size
The name of the Ocean collection says it all: The individual struts are made of 80 % so-called Oceanix. These are recycled plastic waste from the sea as well as discarded fishing nets, which would otherwise drift around as ghost nets in the sea and could be eaten by fish. The Ocean Table is 70 cm wide and deep and 74 cm high.
Design
Apart from the material, outdoor furniture is not a new invention. Jørgen & Nanna Ditzel designed the outdoor furniture series in 1955. Nanna Ditzel was born in Copenhagen in 1923 and was a furniture, textile and jewellery designer. Many of her designs were awarded the Lunning Prize, for example. Jørgen Ditzel was an architect and Nanna Ditzel's first husband.
