Light metal: Ocean outdoor table from Mater
The Ocean collection is characterised by its filigree look. On the slim frame there are several slats with a certain courage to fill the gap. This gap ensures that the rainwater drains off easily.
Material and size
The unobtrusive appearance is one thing, the material used is another. Even if you don't look at the Ocean table of Mater in any way: This table is mostly made of garbage, more precisely from plastic garbage from the sea - a concept that hopefully also sets a precedent for other manufacturers. One table contains 80% Oceanix, which is made from recycled hard plastic and old fishing nets. The Ocean table is 140 cm wide, 74 cm high and 70 cm deep. Four people can sit comfortably at the Ocean table. The frame is made of high-quality steel.
Design
Apart from the material, outdoor furniture is not a new invention. Jørgen & Nanna Ditzel designed the minimalistic outdoor furniture series in 1955. Nanna Ditzel was born in Copenhagen in 1923 and was a furniture, textile and jewellery designer. Many of her designs were awarded the Lunning Prize, for example. Jørgen Ditzel was an architect and Nanna Ditzel's first husband.
